It’s one of those chart hit weekends again with thumping UK and US Chart tunes in our luxurious club on the French Riviera. Join us from 11pm for Rihanna, Beyonce, Akon, Kanye West, Amy Winehouse and many more.

Dress up and come out for a great nights groovin’ at BASE.

Our live Cuban band and excellent Salsa teachers will soon guide you through the essential elements of Salsa, merengue and other latin beats.

It’s every Sunday evening and we start at 19.30.

Admission and class is €10.

What’s the vibe?

You told us that you are niched-out and want somewhere NORMAL that’s ENGLISH SPEAKING to go drinking and dancing to NORMAL dance music. Somewhere that’s DIFFERENT from the pub, and not a tiny little one-roomed metal dungeon in some really dimly lit backstreet.

BASE is the answer, it’s big, it’s a REGULAR nightclub, that has NO NICHE. It’s not gay or lesbian, it’s not METAL, it’s not LATIN, nor SCANDINAVIAN nor FRENCH. It’s not BLACK or WHITE, IRISH, ENGLISH, AFRICAN or ESKIMO.

BASE is an international club that’s for PEOPLE to drink, dance, meet new people and have fun.

BASE is in the Old Town on the Promenade where it’s well lit and easy to find.

It’s a normal nightclub, so expect dance tunes old and new, charts and grooves. If you can dance to it and it’s got that indiscernable something that makes your body move, we’ll play it.There’s no point asking for: Techno, Eurobeat, Trance, Metal, NuMetal, Jazz, Bryan Adams or Roxette

Do you play French music?
Not many but some, we play internationally recognisable hits, if it is a giant hit like Je t’Aime and Plastic Bertrand then YES! We also play a fair bit of DJ dance grooves that are popular in France. Naturally we’ll slip in a little knee trembler like je t’aime from time to time, just for fun at the end.

You must be over 18 and be able to prove it if asked.

Admission is at the sole discretion of the management. We may refuse admission for several reasons not relating to you. The most common reason to refuse entry is that we are full.

100m from the Eastern end of the Promenade Des Anglais, which is called “Quai Des Etat Unis”. Look for the art gallery ‘Gallery des Ponchettes’ and we are the first building to the right.

Dress code for BASE is cool urban or beach in summer. We LOVE when you look FABULOUS!!

Can I wear jeans?
Sure, but not the ones you’ve been painting in, or the over-length ones you’ve been dragging around the doggie poo of Nice all day. We don’t get that dragged along look.

I’ve only got trainers, is that OK?
Yes provided that they are cool trainers with a good outfit and you look good in them. Though perhaps it’s time to invest in some cool shoes? Door policy can be hard on trainers and there’s no point in claiming that they’re cool VANS trainers if they’re minging.
